Letās talk about a New Year and a new plan.Ā New meal plan to start 2019.
Itās good to have a meal plan because it leads to healthier decisions when eating. I enjoy eating food especially when itās whole food and not processed. So I became a little obsessed with meal planning. So obsessed I dedicated part of my planner to just meal planning. See planner below. Ā
Meal planning for me helps my week run smooth especially when there is a busy week with the family. I came across a great article about meal planning that just helps justify why meal planning is important, as well as some tips to get started. It actually helped me spruce up my existing ideas for 2019.
Tips
*Should you go digital or old school when planning. I say go with works for you. However writing (old school) out the meal plan on paper is a great way to share with your family. I like to post it on the fridge which takes the guessing out of what to cook and what they will be eating for the week.Ā
*Using food already in your fridge is a great way to start. Less overwhelming when first starting out Ā
*Planning allows you to choose healthy foods to eat especially when you are on the go. When we arenāt prepared we tend to make unhealthy food decisions.
*Make eating fun and not a chore. Having special days for special food items help the thought process of āwhat to eatā be less taxing. ex. meat loaf Monday or homemade pizza on Friday.Ā

Ok ok this is a HUGE goal of mine for 2019 is to get over eating left overs! š¦ I honestly despise leftovers it makes me gag no lie. But I love the idea of having to start with the food in my kitchen for meal prepping. Do you usually start with your meat how’s your base? And work off of that? I also just started a bullet journal š£ annnnd working out again lol. I’m trying to be like you when I grow up!!

Not like me because you know you can do it. I do start with my meat first and alternate so I donāt get bored. And I plan so I donāt eat the same thing all the time. No left overs just means a little more creative and a little more money
